Quick Steps to Copy an Account

Note: To do this, the user will need the security right "Can Deep Copy Accounts."

  1. Select the Account Tile from the Dashboard.
  2. Search for the Account you want to copy.
  3. Copy the account by:
    1. Click the vertical ellipses from the card view and select Copy Account
    2. Open the Account Details and select Copy Account from the menu of the account profile panel.
  4. The Create new account wizard opens, populated with values from the original account.
  5. Step through the wizard by clicking Next, and update fields on each page as required.
  6. Once new information is entered, click Save.

Detailed Steps to Copy an Account

To create an account that is similar to an existing account, copy the existing account. This copies the basic information (address, business line, stakeholder(s), etc.) from the first account to the copy another, so all the information does not have to be entered again.

To copy an account:

  1. Search for the account to copy.
  2. Copy the account by:
    1. Click the vertical ellipses from the card view and select Copy Account
    2. Open the Account Details and select Copy Account from the menu of the account profile panel.

  3. The Create new account wizard opens, populated with values from the original account.

  4. Step through the wizard by clicking Next, and update fields on each page as required. 
    1. The following required fields are not copied over to the new account:
      1. Account Name
      2. Account ID
    2. If the selected Business Line has a Sector and Subsector, you must make a selection, even if the original account did not have them identified.
    3. Enter a new name, and update any additional information that is no longer accurate in the designated categories within the various pages.
  5. Once new information is entered, click Save to create the account.
